Maharashtra pollution control board is a state-level body in India. The main objective of this organization is to control and regulate air, water, and noise pollution in Maharashtra state. This organization also controls the emission of hazardous waste from industries. 

The functions of MPCB are as follows:

  • To ensure that all industrial units adhere to the environmental norms laid down by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
  • To monitor the quality of water being used by industries for various purposes like drinking water, cooling, etc.

Granting permission to Industries by MPCB

MPCB NOC is issued to the new industrial units, which are established in the state of Maharashtra. This form is required for setting up different types of industries such as chemical and petrochemical, food processing, textile, power generation, and other types of manufacturing industries.

How can I get NOC in MPCB?

Consent To Establish Procedure:

  1. The first step would be to identify what type of business you want to start, then check if there are any MPCB regulations that apply to your industry.
  2. Then after, visit http://www.ecmpcb.in/ and register.
  3. During the application process, applicants are not needed to visit any of the MPCB offices. As part of the registration process, the online system includes one-time mobile verification for the applicant and one-time online document verification by the Department.
  4. The status of the application then changes to “Document Pending,” and four mandatory papers must be uploaded online before the status changes to “Payment Pending.” The industry will be required to pay fees online in accordance with the fee structure found at http://www.mpcb.gov.in/consent-under-water-and-air-act#fees. When an application is approved, the payment details must be updated, and the status changes to “Payment Approved.”
  5. The application is assigned to the Field Officer by SRO. The application status changes to “In Process” once the field officer analyses the application and sends it via the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS). The field officer reviews the application, visits the industry (for the establishment and first operations), and submits their recommendation/visit report to the Sub Regional Officer.
  6. The application is now submit through IMIS according to a delegation of power, depending on the industry’s category and capital investment. See the following link: http://www.mpcb.gov.in/consent-under-water-and-air-act The application will be examined by the relevant authorities, and if everything checks out, the application will be granted in IMIS, with the status changing to “Approved” on the online portal and the signed consent copy being uploaded. If the application is not suitable, it is denied in IMIS and the Entrepreneur is notified by marking the application status as “Rejected.” The consent copy can be downloaded from the internet portal by industry.
